Busy Coquitlam Film & Television Actress Opens First-Ever Film Training Studio in the Tri-Cities.

Tricities Film & Television training studio will open their doors this September with classes for kids, teens and adults of all experience levels in the heart of Maillardville. It also houses a professional audition taping, available seven days a week, to service the growing number of actors living in the Tri-Cites and surrounding communities.

Heading up the new studio is Tri-Cities resident, Lisa Durupt, an established Film & Television actor actively working in the Industry. A well respected performer, Lisa has worked alongside some of Hollywood’s best: James Caan (The Godfather), Chrissy Metz (This Is Us), Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada) Topher Grace (That 70’s Show & BlacKkKlansman), Molly Ringwald (Riverdale & Pretty in Pink) and many, many more. With over 50 Film & Television credits for major studios & networks like FOX, UNIVERSAL, NICKLODEON, HALLMARK, LIFETIME, The CW, ABC and more, Lisa is passionate about helping other local Tri-Cities residents pursue their goals of working in the film business.

“Over the years, people have regularly asked me where they can take weekly film acting class, or where to send their kids to get started in the industry. The top training studios were all located in Vancouver. However, with growing traffic congestion and people moving to the suburb communities, Vancouver is not always convenient for everyone. I have been coaching and teaching everything from Musical Theatre to Hockey since I was a kid and finally decided to combine my passion for teaching with my sincere love for the Tri-Cities community. The Tri-Cities are bursting at the seams with arts & culture; the talent pool is immense and I can’t wait to help facilitate learning and growth for actors of all ages. The Vancouver film industry is booming, projected to inject over $3 billion into the local economy in 2018.Tricities Film Studio will allow for experienced actors, and new-comers alike, to train at an elite level much closer to home.”

Durupt is currently guest-starring on the twelfth season of CBC’s ‘Heartland’, as well as shooting Lifetime’s ‘Christmas Lost & Found’ with Diane Lad & Tiya Sircar. Recently she joined the cast of Hallmark’s newest Murder Mystery Series; ‘The Chronicle Mysteries’ starring Alison Sweeney, set to air September 2018.  Durupt co-stars in two feature films to be released in 2019; the faith based drama ‘Breakthrough’ (FOX 2000) & the second instalment of the comedy franchise ‘Benchwarmers’ (UNIVERSAL).

Registration for fall classes opens August 24th, 2018. Check out www.tricitiesfilmstudio.com for all the details. Fall classes start September 22nd.
