Jim Rapsas – VP, Development & Production
Jim is a two-time Emmy Award winning Executive Producer who has been active in both the scripted and non-scripted sides of television entertainment, writing and selling scripts to studios and production companies, as well as developing and producing documentary and reality series for networks like AMC, Discovery and Lifetime, collaborating with A-List talent including James Cameron, Robert Redford, and Natalie Portman, and facilitating many international co-productions.
Jim has spent the past several years driving the development of various documentary series under AMC’s Visionaries banner. Most recently, Jim was the Supervising Producer of the AMC documentary series Eli Roth’s History of Horror. Prior to that, he developed and served as Supervising Producer of Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics, produced by the creator of The Walking Dead and his company Skybound Entertainment. Jim also developed the AMC documentary series James Cameron’s Story of Sci-Fi for Left/Right Entertainment and James Cameron. He has served as a Writer and Producer for Stephen David Entertainment on the scripted/documentary hybrid series Making of the Mob for AMC, American Genius for National Geographic Channel, and the AMC series The American West with Executive Producer Robert Redford.
As VP, Development and Production at Discovery Communications, Jim oversaw numerous original series for Discovery Channel, The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids Channel, and his productions earned over 40 Emmy nominations during his tenure. It was at Discovery that Jim established his strong track record of facilitating international co-productions, with series based in Canada, the U.K., Ireland, South Africa, and other countries.
Jim created, wrote and executive produced the sci-fi mystery series Strange Days at Blake Holsey High (also known as Black Hole High), which aired on NBC in the U.S., Global TV in Canada, and ITV in the U.K., receiving several series and writing Emmy nominations over its four-season run, as well as a BAFTA nomination. Jim also had his one-hour pilot The Dorothy Conspiracy optioned by Entertainment One and sold a pilot script to Freeform for the series Generation Dead.
Michael Lyons – Producer
Born and raised in the arts community of Winnipeg Manitoba, Michael spent 4 summers in Dawson City Yukon singing & dancing at the renown Diamond Tooth Gerties Casino after completing the Musical Theatre program at the Canadian College of Performing arts. He holds a B.A. in Theatre & Film from the University of Winnipeg. As co-owner of Tricities Film Studio and Timelapse Escape Rooms, Michael brings a long history of business, marketing and sales experience to the production team.
Lisa Durupt – Producer
Born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba, Lisa brings almost 20 years of On-Camera experience to Coquitlam Pictures. With a strong background in Sports, a B.A. in Theatre & Film from the Univeristy of Winnipeg, as well as a diploma in Musical Theatre from the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Lisa adds a strong female voice to the team.
